A THRIFT SHOP AND STUDENT COMMUNITY CENTER
This thrift shop will be completely donation based, with the bulk of the items collected at the beginning and end of each school year through partnerships with UBC Sustainability in Residence, the Sustainability Ambassadors, Mindful Moveout, and more! Operations will be entirely volunteer-run, carefully curated, and excess items will be direct towards our partnership with the UBC Free Store! The thrift shop will also be a location to promote student art, music, and organizations that support sustainability and student culture. Learn more here!
A SEED MEMBERSHIP FOR DISCOUNTS IN UBC AND VANCOUVER
For only $2/year, receive a Growth membership for discounts with our sponsors all over Vancouver and UBC Vancouver campus! We will be partnering exclusively with environmental friendly vendors, local shops, and creative entrepreneurs. Join us in supporting Vancouver’s local scene! As a bonus, once the year is up, our seed membership cards can be planted to grow wildflowers, herbs, or vegetables (the paper will compost away leaving no waste)!
Yet To Be Kick-started
A SHARED CYCLE OF RE-USABLE METAL CUTLERY WITHIN UBC
Did you know that 51% of UBC’s disposable cutlery is funnelled into our waste? To prevent this trend and promote a more sustainable method of consumption, Project Imagine has kickstarted the journey to implement the Used-tensil program to provide metal knives, spoons, and forks at each AMS and UBC food outlet. Rather than a linear pathway to the landfill, this will encourage a circular cycle of re-usable cutlery!
A UBC RESIDENCE COMMUNITY GARDEN PROJECT
Much like AMS Roots on the Roof, this project’s goal is to install community gardens in each UBC residence to raise awareness, morale, and teamwork. We aim to have this implemented as an annual, seasonal program with a focus on incoming first years. Come grow fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers with us!
